Thug Shaker Central

Hi. This story makes me so shocked, so strap in.

Jack Teixeira, a 21-year-old individual in a Minecraft Discord server titled "Thug Shaker Central," decided to share classified documents to prove he had high military clearance. Teixeira leaked over a hundred pages of documents, some of which had detailed information on strategy around the Russian war with Ukraine and intelligence the United States has on a number of countries, including North Korea, China, Egypt, and Iran. He shared these to the Thug Shaker Central Discord, a server where roughly two dozen members, mostly teenagers, played war games, posted racist memes, talked about guns, and discussed the war in Ukraine.

These leaks started spreading quickly because what else can you expect from a bunch of teenagers. The leak spread to thousands more servers and was then discovered by the US government through social media. This led to Teixeira’s arrest last week. It’s so scary to think that matters of our national security, which have enormous, widespread consequences for people whose lives hang in the balance, are being put in the hands of 21-year-olds conditioned by their social circles to act like dickhead edge lords for attention. (Tessa Kaur) Fifty of the leaked files were classified as “Secret” or “Top Secret."

"This shit was sitting in a Minecraft Discord server for a month and no one noticed,” an investigative reporter told CNN.

Teixeira faces up to 15 years in prison for two counts of violating the Espionage Act of 1917, which made it a crime to convey information with the intent to interfere with the operation or success of the armed forces of the United States or to promote its enemies' success.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene seemed to paint Teixeira as a hero in a Tweet. Some people even claim that Teixeira’s arrest was used to cover up a covert, illegal US presence in Ukraine and that the government is treating Teixeira worse than it treated Osama bin Laden (former Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson).

We should figure shit like this out.
